Empty aluminium drinks cans
Snips or scissors
Staple gun and staples
Hammer |
|
Step 1
Insert the point of the
scissors and cut around the top and bottom of the drinks can.
Be careful - the edges and corners will be sharp.
|
 |
Step 2
Cut a slit down the length of
the cylinder. Draw the sheet over the edge of a table or similar
to flatten it out. |
 |
Step 3
Trim the cuts you made to
remove the ends of the can to get rid of the jagged edges.
|
 |
Step 4
Fold the sheet over a straight
edge creating a 90 degree corner. |
 |
Step 5
Secure
the side to the post with a couple of staples. |
 |
Step 6
Create a second fold along the opposite edge of
the post, trim to the same height as the first and secure with
more staples. |
 |
Step 7
Fold the sides in at each
end, securing them with staples.
|
 |
Step 8
Gently hammer the end of the
metal sheet down over the side of the post. Repeat on the other
side.
|
 |
Step 9
Trim the "flap" to length and
secure with a staple. Repeat on the other side.
|
 |
Step 10
If you have any sharp
corners, give them a gentle tap with the hammer to reduce any
chance of injury.
