How to make a Garlic Wash to deter
slugs and snails
This is the recipe used by a
commercial nursery growing hostas to deter slugs & snails. I'll
certainly be trying it next year on my vegetables. |
Recipe
Makes approximately 1.5 litres / 2.6 pints
Ingredients
2
Whole bulbs of garlic 2 Litres of water
Method
Place the garlic and water in a pan,
and boil till soft (about 10
minutes) Crush the garlic with a potato
masher Once cool, strain the liquid
through a fine sieve into a 2
litre pop bottle.
If you intend to use it with a
sprayer, then filter through a piece
of muslin or paper towel. Label the bottle.
Note that this is a concentrate,
and should be diluted for use.
