Using Cheap Plastic Cups as Plant
Pots
These cheap plastic cups cost a fraction of the price of plant
pots, and will last several years, provided you take care when
using them. |
Preparing the Cups

Soldering iron

Step 1
Melt a hole in the base of each
cup using a soldering iron. Do this in a well-ventilated area -
preferably outdoors.

Step 2
Once you have a drainage hole,
the cups are ready for use as plant pots for small seedlings. |
|
Step 3
The cups are the perfect size to
fit neatly in 15-cell tray inserts. |

Fifteen shallots started in
plastic cups about 3 weeks ago. |

Example 1
Fifteen pots multi-sown with
spring onions, which will be planted out to form small clumps.
